Our concept is that the transportation companies form a community and together make use of our services as well as connvenio. It also is this community that, together with us, refines the scope of service and connvenio.
The most important tool of this community is the “steering group”. The steering group consist of one representative of each transportation company and one representative of Achilles. At least once a year, or according to requirements, all these representatives meet in order to discuss and agree on the following: requirements/criteria for suppliers, supplier audits, transportation companies that wish to join this community and the further development of connvenio.
Operation of connvenio
Achilles operates connvenio, an online supplier information system, on behalf of the transportation companies from Germany, East and Central Europe. With your personal login details you cannot only identify verified suppliers but also maintain/administer your company internal supplier information in your protected area.
Verification of suppliers
We verify all data, information and documents provided by the supplier via an online supplier questionnaire (pre-qualification stage 1). The verification includes: compliance with requirements, validation, accuracy and contradiction. Only if we identify that a supplier meets these criteria, we upload him to connvenio.
Provision of supplier information
It is our objective to provide a comprehensive and meaningful profile of each supplier. Due to this, we upload the information and data gained from the verification to connvenio, which has interfaces that allow a data transfer from/to SAP or Oracle.
Sustainable verification of suppliers
Our aim is that you can always access valid and meaningful information each time you log-in to connvenio. Consequently, we ask every supplier to update their profile once a year. We continuously observe whether the suppliers comply with the current requirements. In addition, the supplier can update his information at any time. In this case, we also check the alterations “outside” the routine verification.
Functionality of connvenio
- Identification of potential suppliers (search for suppliers) A large search and filter function, that is EU-conform, allows you to systematically search for suppliers. This results from the fact that every transportation company asks its suppliers to register with connvenio.
- Global Sourcing via Achilles Global Transport Business Directory With your access to the „Achilles Global Transport Business Directory“ you can identify suppliers on a global basis. This directory consists of suppliers that are already verified (pre-qualified) by Achilles in other countries / geographical regions.
- RFI - Ask suppliers additional questions electronically via eQual All “pre-qualified” suppliers registered in connvenio are verified successfully by Achilles and comply with requirements set up by the transportation companies in Central Europe (pre-qualification stage 1). However, each transportation company naturally is in need of further detailed information to assign suppliers (pre-qualification stage 2 / qualification). Our customers do not need separate software for this. They use eQual. With eQual they cannot only administer their additional internal questions but also send those questions to the appropriate suppliers. After sending the additional questions they can track the responses: who has already answered the questions? In addition to that with eQual you can also evaluate if the supplier complies with the additional requirements.
- Supplier Management and Development If required, we can implement a dedicated area exclusively for your organisation within connvenio. In this dedicated area you can administer/maintain your internal information/ confidential information such as the development of suppliers, contracts, tenders etc.
- Qualification System according to EU procurement regulation connvenio is designed to be used as a “qualification system”. The transportation companies can publish an EU-Notice by using connvenio as a pre-qualification system.
