Major players in the Spanish construction sector decided to implement a joint information and documentation management scheme. This service, document@, is managed by Achilles in co-operation with Obralia, the B2B portal owned by a number of major construction companies.
The aim was to have a system that contained all the documentary information relating to suppliers and subcontractors. This would remove the need for suppliers to send the same documents over and over again to different works and/or customers – reducing costs and removing duplication of effort. At the same time, this would encourage the promotion of fair competition, helping to differentiate suppliers that fulfilled appropriate sector standards..
document@ is based on the principle ‘submitted once, valid for everyone’. It contains a core group of documents, usually requested by all construction companies. These will be resubmitted to the central ‘store’ on an agreed regular basis, to ensure they are up to date. This gives subscribers access to a permanently updated information system.
Subcontractors can also print the document@ report, which includes all relevant information extracted from company’s documentation, and present it at any location where they are working for a subscriber.
This service is available to any company operating in the Spanish sector, including construction companies, subcontractors, suppliers or service companies.
Many construction companies and their suppliers already know and trust Achilles South Europe, S.L.. Achilles provides supplier management and information services to the construction sector in other countries, and is pleased to be working in co-operation with Obralia to bring you this new service.
