The introduction of the new Advanced Registration Questionnaire in 2008 was the single biggest change and improvement to FPAL since its formation 1996. Now for the first time, purchasers are able to see the whole supplier submission and all of the supporting evidence. This is a great improvement over the previous Capability Profiling Questionnaire where Purchasers only saw the profile scores but not the substance behind these scores. The availability of this detailed information is a significant advance for Purchasers and has the potential to cut out duplication of effort but what does the introduction of the advanced registration questionnaire mean for the Supplier? To answer this a customer survey was developed and sent to all Suppliers who had completed the questionnaire.
Over 50% of suppliers, who responded to the questionnaire, found that it took them less than one week from the preparation stage to overall completion. The majority of Suppliers who responded to the questionnaire thought the process had improved, when compared with the previous system (Capability Profiling Questionnaire) and over half of the respondents thought the results displayed on the database were enhanced.
Shelley Laing, Proposals Co-ordinator at PSN described her experience of completing the Advanced Registration Questionnaire. She said: “I found the entire process very easy to complete. For PSN as a supplier, this leverages our profile within the oil and gas sector and promotes recognition among other service related companies.. Completing the Advanced Registration Questionnaire underlines our commitment to health, safety and environmental issues, along with all other aspects of our work.”
