17 Aug 2011

FPAL, began in 1996 when oil companies first sought to create a centralised procurement system.  Fifteen years on, the supplier information management solution which operates in the North Sea, remains as valid today as it was at its inception. Ian Donaldson, chairman of FPAL's steering committee comments on FPAL's 15th birthday....

Ian Donaldson, chairman of FPAL's steering committee and manager of supply chain management for Talisman Energy UK explained, “FPAL continues to make a key contribution towards making our industry more efficient and helping to secure its long term future in a high cost and mature oil province. The steering committee has overseen the successful introduction of many improvements to FPAL to ensure it continues to meet its user’s needs and I am confident that FPAL is an enduring initiative which can be proud of its history and can look forward to helping our industry to remain competitive for the next fifteen years and beyond.”

Today, with over 80 purchasers and 3,000 suppliers, FPAL is widely regarded as the direct route to business in the oil and gas sector and it looks forward to supporting oil and gas development not just in the UKCS, The Netherlands and Ireland but throughout Europe.
