In Norway the ”Byggenæringen Landsforening” (The Building and Civil Engineering Association) (BNL) established a joint supplier’s register for the building and the civil engineering business under the name of StartBANK. The development of the supplier’s register has taken place in close cooperation with public authorities.
The purpose of the supplier’s register is to contribute towards use of only approved reliable participants in the building and civil engineering business, thus enabling the participants to compete on equal terms. In addition it is the intent of the arrangement to achieve an efficient and resource-saving sharing of joint information.
The name StartBANK has been chosen to express that this is the start of a unique and very important approval process.
