How the Academy works
Achilles’ EU Academy training modules are delivered in a structured order either in-house or through open route to ensure an individual or organisation understands, from first principle, the EU procurement rules and regulations, and how to apply them.
What types of modules are delivered?
Each module is workshop-based and interactive. An exam at the end of each module ensures delegates have fully understood the module.
Topics covered will include the understanding of EU rules from first principle, completing OJEU notices and the legislation around it, setting up and the use of framework agreements, sustainability under EU rules, the rules selection and award criteria, remedies and pulling it all together by working on a procurement project.
Is there any additional work needed?
There will be some additional studying and work for each module. This could be to follow up on information from the previous course or to prepare information for a subsequent course. To assist the students, they will be given access to Achilles online EU Procurement encyclopedia, THEMiS, which has all the relevant reference material required for each of the modules.
How long does it take to attain accreditation?
It is recommended that the modules run over a six month period; however, if being delivered in-house, this can be over a shorter or longer period if required.
The open academy runs over a six or seven month period dependent on sector and is delivered at Achilles’ Head Office in Oxfordshire.
How long is each course?
Courses vary depending on the complexity of the module.
