Achilles are proud to again be the principle sponsor of the Outward Bound Professional Charity Challenge 2010. This event, in its 12th year, offers the unique opportunity for corporate teams to take part in the challenge, an action-packed and fun weekend in the Lake District.
Taking part in the challenge will help support the charitable objectives of The Outward Bound Trust. Through the power of outdoor challenge and adventure The Outward Bound Trust show thousands of young people every year the meaning of the words “I can”. It is often those who can least afford it who benefit most from an Outward Bound® course and your participation in Charity Challenge 2010 means you directly help these young people develop real life skills.
What is Involved?
A corporate challenge with theme of King Arthur. Including challenging outdoor tasks, fighting dragons, rescuing damsels and practicing sword-play.
This year the winning team will be announced at a drinks reception at St. James's Palace. The winners will win a weekend at Camelot Castle Hotel on the Cornish coastline.
Prize-Giving Event
The prize-giving event will take place at St. James's Palace in London, with awards and prizes presented by HRH The Duke of York, KG KCVO ADC, Chairman of Trustees for The Outward Bound Trust.
Dates
Choose your weekend from:
- Heat 1 - 5th - 7th March 2010
- Heat 2 - 12th - 14th March 2010
Teams are asked to arrive for 17:00 on the Friday
Teams depart approx. 15:00 on the Sunday
No experience is necessary, as full training and supervision is included
It will not necessarily be the fittest team who will win. Brain can win over braun!
Cost
The entry fee is £3,000 (+ VAT) per team of four. This includes:
- A fully-catered weekend in comfortable country house-style accommodation (meals are provided throughout the weekend)
- Waterproofs, boots and personal safety equipment are provided
- Safety cover and appropriate levels of public & product liability insurance
- Tickets for the whole team and their sponsor to attend the champagne and canapé reception at St. James's Palace, in the company of HRH The Duke of York, KG KCVO ADC, Chairman of Trustees for The Outward Bound Trust.
