Achilles CEO named as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of the Year® 2009
Colin Maund, CEO of Achilles has been named as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® 2009 Winner London & South Region. He was selected from over 100 finalists to receive this award and will now go forward to a national final in October to compete with 53 top executives from across the UK for the title Ernst & Young Overall UK Entrepreneur Of The Year. The UK winner will go out to Monte Carlo in May 2010 to represent their country at Ernst & Young’s World Entrepreneur Of The Year awards.
Maund, who joined Achilles in 1993, caught the eye of the panel for his ability to take an essentially niche idea and turn it into a product accessible to a number of industries with the ability to perform globally.
Prior to Achilles, he specialized in procurement where he worked for a variety of organizations including HM Treasury and the CBI. He is currently a member of the European Commission’s Advisory Committee for the Opening Up of Public Procurement and is heavily involved in the interface between professional procurement and the demands of Corporate Responsibility.
Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year is the world’s most prestigious business award for entrepreneurs. The unique award makes a difference through the way it encourages entrepreneurial activity among those with potential, and recognises the contribution of people who inspire others with their vision, leadership and achievement.
