Achilles, the leading supplier management services company, is pleased to announce their sponsorship of the 2009 Outward Bound Professional Charity Challenge set to take place in March 2009. This is the fourth year running that Achilles have supported the initiative as part of their patronage of the Outward Bound Trust.
The event, now in its twelfth year, is open to teams of four from companies worldwide. They are invited to compete against each other in a series of challenges aimed to strengthen team spirit and encourage teamwork. However, this year’s Charity Challenge comes with an added twist. All tasks are linked to skills used in Roman times, from bridge building and aqueduct construction to bear wrestling and verb conjugating! The challenge takes place over an action packed weekend at Outward Bound Headquarters in the Lake District.

The winners of this year’s challenge will be announced at a drinks reception at St. James's Palace, with awards and prizes presented by HRH The Duke of York, KG KCVO ADC, Chairman of Trustees for The Outward Bound Trust. The winners will receive an all expense paid weekend in Rome.
Patronage of the Outward Bound Trust is a key element of Achilles’ corporate social responsibility programme. The company is involved in local community projects across the world as well as raising money for Cancer Research UK. Achilles also sponsor the Oxford-Achilles Working Group on Corporate Social Responsibility at the Saïd Business School, an initiative to bring debate and practical recommendations to CSR strategy.
