SQS Corporate Licence
Overview
SQS corporate licence is a commercial offer for any parent company with multiple legal entities who would like to participate in the Shell Supplier Qualification System. Parent companies are eligible to apply for the corporate licence with the benefits of a discount licence fee. The corporate licence offer is optional; companies with multiple legal entities can also follow the standard fee structure in SQS
All registrations in SQS are required at a legal entity level, regardless of whether a company applies for a corporate licence or chooses the standard fee structure.
Application
Any parent company that has at least 6 legal entities can apply for the SQS corporate licence under the Terms and Conditions of this offer. However, it is worth evaluating whether the corporate licence approach will benefit your company before continuing. You can contact a member of the corporate licence team for advice or you may find the information below helpful in making your decision.
Fees
The corporate licence fees are annual (12 months) and tiered based on the number of legal entities you wish to be covered by the licence. The list of these entities will need to be supplied at the time of application.
- Tier 1: Up to 10 legal entities - £8500, US$14450, €10200
- Tier 2: 11-20 legal entities - £12500, US$21250, €15000
- Tier 3: 21 or more legal entities - £20000, US$34000, €24000
The corporate licence fee tiers are not affected by the number of product codes selected in each registration. Where a legal entity is covered by a corporate licence, it can select unlimited number of product codes.
Terms and Conditions
A copy of the corporate licence Terms & Conditions will be sent to you as part of your corporate licence application pack. You can also find a copy of these on the following website: www.achilles.com/shell In addition to the corporate licence Terms & Conditions, you will be sent a copy of the SQS Terms and Conditions (Stage 1 & 2) which will require acceptance as part of each registration during the completion of stage 1/2 process.
Please note Achilles are not able to accept individual amendments to the SQS Terms & Conditions (Stage 1 & 2) as we operate a standard subscription service whereby all customers need to join under the same conditions.
Legal Entities
All legal entities that have contracts with Shell or that will apply for contracts with Shell during the corporate licence term are required to register in SQS. It is possible to add a legal entity to your application after it has been processed, as long as you do not exceed the number of entities in the tier you have paid for. If you would like to remove an entity after your application has been processed that takes you to a lower tier, your company will not be refunded the difference.
Corporate licence Registration Process
Each corporate licence application is handled by the corporate licence team who will talk you through the process and support you in filling out your application. Should you have any questions regarding the SQS corporate licence, you can find the contact details below.

Frequently Asked Questions
If we apply for a corporate licence, why do each or our entities need to register separately in SQS?
Corporate licence offer is a commercial benefit and is not related to the registration process. Each legal entity within a group has to have its own registration profile. This ensures that each legal entity goes through the assessment process applicable to its company profile. For example, an HSSE assessment questionnaire may be applicable to suppliers installing equipment at Shell site and not to other suppliers. Registration at legal entity level also allows Shell CP specialists to find a company specialising in providing a particular product or service in a specific region.
If we apply for a corporate licence, will we get notification of contracts and tenders before standard suppliers?
No, SQS suppliers under the corporate licence will be treated equally with the suppliers that went through standard registration process when being considered for future contract opportunities. The corporate licence provides applicants with a discounted fee; all other registration benefits are equally available to every supplier registered in SQS.
Will we receive additional support if we apply for a corporate licence?
Yes, the corporate licence team will support you with your application for a corporate licence. Achilles understands that large global enterprises may need additional co-ordination for registration in SQS and aims to provide the support necessary to go through the process.
Will the system pre-populate common data across our legal entities registrations?
No, unfortunately the system does not allow data to be shared across registrations. You can make use of our supporting documents to help you pass globally common data to your entities, but they must enter this information in their registration themselves.
What happens if some of my entities are already registered in FPAL or JQS with Achilles; can I still include them in our corporate licence?
Yes, you can include any of your subsidiaries in the corporate licence. However, please note that if your entities are registered in FPAL or JQS and they wish to continue doing business in the FPAL or JQS regions, they are not required to continue to Stage 2. If they are currently supplying, or wish to supply products/services outside of these regions, then Stage 2 may still be required. Please see the Supplier FAQs for more information.
Can I pay for the corporate licence on behalf of my parent company?
No, unfortunately the corporate licence has to be applied and paid for by the parent company to ensure accuracy in the registration process.
Helpful information
Filling in the Application
If you would like to apply for a corporate licence, and have received your application pack from Achilles, you may need to consult with other departments regarding your application which can take some time and delay your application. It is a good idea to provide Achilles with the list of legal entities for your company as soon as possible. This way, Achilles can stop any invitations which have not yet been sent to your legal entities until your application has been processed.
In your application pack, you will find:
- Corporate licence Application Form
- Corporate licence Terms & Conditions
- SQS Stage 1 Terms & Conditions
- SQS Stage 2 Terms & Conditions
- SQS Corporate Licence Brochure
- SQS Corporate licence Legal Entity Invitation Letter
- SQS Supplier FAQs
General information on the SQS project, including Shell Code of Conduct and the SQS User Guide can be found on the Shell website www.shell.com/supplier/qualification
Contacting Achilles
There will be a member of the corporate licence team in each Achilles hub (contact details above). The parent company can apply for the corporate licence at their local hub, and any legal entities requiring support (especially those in different time zones) can contact their local hub for support.
Contacting your Legal Entities
Once you have provided Achilles with the list of your legal entities and your application has been processed, Achilles will work with you to invite each of your included entities to register in SQS. This process can be done by Achilles with your input, or you can invite your entities with Achilles support if this is preferable. All documentation will be provided by Achilles, and has been approved by Shell.
Each organisation operates in a different way, and some corporate licence applicants will find that getting their legal entities to register is a challenging process. A few things to consider depending on the size and global reach of your company are:
- Does your company have a centralised structure or do your entities make most decisions independently?
- Do you have someone responsible for your business with Shell in each of your entities?
- Will you need a focal point at each entity to ensure the registration process is completed?
Getting information for your registrations
You may find that a small amount of the information required for registering in SQS is common across your company, for example parent company details. For this type of information, you can use the common data template to pass the information to your legal entities to avoid having to answer multiple requests. The data that is common will be different for some companies, so this template is only a guideline.
Managing renewals
If some of your legal entities have already registered in SQS, they will not be offered a refund for their subscription in accordance with Achilles’ Terms & Conditions. However, if you provide Achilles with their information, Achilles will insure that they are included in your corporate licence for the next year’s subscription.
