Benchmarking is a process that measures and compares your performance against others, and using lessons learned to make improvements to your business practice. It involves answering two questions – who is better, and why?

The concept of effective benchmarking is to aid continuous improvement and identify and implement best practice in your construction projects.

What is HouseBench?

HouseBench is an online tool used to measure performance in key areas such as time, cost and quality to enable you to benchmark your performance.

The Housing Forum Benchmarking Club was the first body specifically set up to meet the needs of the UK Housing Industry. The club champions’ performance measurement in all parts of the industry, offering its members effective tools and support for shared learning and the implementation of continuous improvement.

The Club has been up and running now for a number of years and is successfully established within the Housing Industry, delivering real benefits to its members. The management of the club was transferred to Achilles Information Limited in 2002, since then the club has developed to provide members with greater flexibility and improved functionality, including effective measurement and reporting tools.  The website also provides links to other industry initiatives such as the Clients' Charter.
